Install from Git Bash (experimental)

Mirror Core's npm package does install on Windows, and some people use it this way. It is not supported: run it from Git Bash, because the runtime hooks and the MCP entry are POSIX shell, and you need Node.js 24 or newer.

Not tested by us on Windows and not covered by Mirror Core's continuous integration, so a release can break it. Your files do not get the owner-only protection they get on macOS and Linux. A per-user Windows installer that brings Node, Git Bash, Pi and Mirror is in review for Mirror Core.

Why the installer is gone

The earlier Windows installer and the Windows Desktop Frame installed the Python version of Mirror Core. Mirror Core is now a TypeScript package, and that installer was retired with the Python engine. A Windows release over the new package is its own piece of work, not promised yet.
